From Data Science & Analytics to Strategy Consulting
After my Masters Cognitive Neuroscience at the University of Amsterdam and Data Science & Analytics at Stanford University I decided to quit academia. Even though the work was challenging, I often worked alone and missed diversity in my work. Within Strategy Consulting, you work on challenging and diverse projects, work with different colleagues every project and see various working environments. I never loose my interest and really enjoy combining qualitative and quantitative methods.

Working on diverse projects with enthusiastic colleagues
As an analyst within Strategy Consulting you get the opportunity to be involved in projects across different industries. This is appealing since you have all the time to figure out what you really enjoy doing and in which industry you prefer to work. You also work most of the time with more experienced colleagues of which you get to learn a lot (qualitative and quantitative)
Do what you like!
After I graduated I really had the feeling that I had to find the job which I would like for the coming 10-15 years. I experienced that it is not the case. More importantly is that you start with something you like and then you get the opportunity to grow fast and see where you are best at. It is a great starting position for your future career.
Developed a new business model which is now very successful
My first project was at an insurance company where we had to define and develop a new business model from scratch. It was a very interesting and challenging journey. We had a lot of fun with the team and the results are promising.
